Urban Poling is a Canadian based organisation with a focus on walking poles and techniques to suit clinical populations. It has a strong educational and research focus. The course is based on the Urban Poling and Activator course created by Mandy Shintani, an occupational therapist with a Master of Gerontology, who developed the poles.
Over the years, Mandy collated the research and enlisted various allied health specialists to contribute to the content. The Australian version has been modified by physiotherapist Dr Juliette Fritschi, to reflect Australian conditions and allied health clinicians.
Workshop for
Physiotherapists, occupational therapists and exercise physiologists.
