 objectives

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the neurophysiological principles underlying PNF

  • Demonstrate and apply basic and advanced PNF techniques

  • Integrate PNF with other therapeutic modalities

  • Design and implement individualised PNF programs for various conditions

  • Use PNF to improve functional movement and rehabilitation outcomes.

Jackie Reznik portrait

Jacqui is an esteemed physiotherapist, Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at James Cook University in Townsville, and Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne, School of Medicine. With a career spanning over five decades, Dr Reznik has made significant contributions to clinical practice and academic research in physiotherapy.

Dr Reznik earned her PhD in Physiotherapy from James Cook University, where she focused on the treatment and management of neurogenic heterotopic ossification (NHO). Her groundbreaking research in this area has led to innovative treatment approaches, including the use of extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT), which has shown great promise for patients with compromised mobility and neurological trauma (12).

Throughout her career, Dr Reznik has held various academic and clinical positions, including Senior Lecturer at Central Queensland University and Honorary Research Associate at Curtin University. She has also been an Honorary Associate at University College London’s Institute of Child Health (12).

Dr Reznik is widely recognised for her expertise in neurological physiotherapy and has delivered over 150 workshops internationally. She has published extensively, including peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and co-editing textbooks such as “Pharmacology for Physiotherapists” and "Rehabilitation of the Spinal Cord Injured Patient" (2).

In addition to her academic and clinical work, Dr Reznik is a dedicated member of several professional organizations, including the Australian Physiotherapy Association and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (1). Her commitment to advancing the field of physiotherapy and improving patient outcomes continues to inspire her colleagues and students alike.

Dr Reznik’s extensive experience and dedication to research and education make her a highly respected figure in the field of physiotherapy.
