Our occupational therapists provide:

  • Comprehensive functional assessment and retraining of daily living skills such as personal care, meal preparation, budgeting, accessing the community and managing daily routines.

  • Home modifications – assessment and modification of a client's home environment to improve safety and independence.

  • Assistive Technology (AT) assessment and equipment prescription from low cost/low risk equipment to complex wheelchairs and seating. Training in use of equipment to improve independence and safety in everyday tasks.

  • Assessment of the impact of cognitive function such as memory, concentration and problem solving on a person’s capacity to perform daily tasks. Introduce a retraining program or strategies to maximise independence and safety.

  • Assessment and therapeutic intervention to maximise upper limb and/or hand function.

  • Supported Disability Accommodation (SDA) and Supported Independent Living (SIL) assessments to assist with the application for NDIS SDA and SIL funding.

  • Education on work simplification and energy conservation techniques.

  • Education on relaxation and stress management.

  • Education on pain management.

  • Advice to carers and/or family members on lifting and transferring techniques, including prescription of transfer equipment (e.g. hoists).

  • Advice on managing chronic health conditions.
